Bachelor of Science in Information Systems The ABET-accredited program in information systems (IS) provides a sound foundation in information technology (IT) principles and practice. The emphasis is on applications of information technology rather than the computer itself. Core technology areas include programming, computer architecture, operating systems (OS), data communication, systems analysis and design, database applications, and project management. The program of study also includes practical statistics, IT organizations, and financial systems. The program also includes a significant general business component, as business topics are integrated into many IS courses. Graduates of the IS program are prepared for a variety of careers in IS and IT, especially in the design, implementation, and management of business systems. Example job titles from KSU graduates of the IS program include network integration, application support, client services analyst, project technologist, and database administrator. The program also prepares students for graduate study in IT, business and related fields. For degree requirements and course descriptions, reference the Undergraduate Catalog. Additional advising materials are available from the CSIS Department. For more information contact Dr. Pamila Dembla at pdembla@kennesaw.edu. |
